"We are proud to finally have a comprehensive after school pgrogram available for the elementary school level children of the Village at Harborfront Park and the Village Center. This collaborative effort amongst the several not-for-profit organizations, the school and the Village is the type of education-based programs that the Center was originally intended to host for the Village residents and surrounding communities. We envision it to grow and contiue to become an integral part of the services we offer our families down at Harborfront Park."

"The After School Program at the PJVC is an outstanding program. The daily enrichment that they receive is tremendous. On any given day, my children are exploring the harbor, going on nature walks, studying starfish and blue crabs and fishing. They are teaching me about the town that I actually grew up in. There is tutoring with homework. There are also wonderful games of kickball and playground activities. In addition, you will always hear positive encouragement from the committed teachers that are caring for our children. There is not a day that my husband and I do not come to pick them up that they want to leave. In fact, we have participated in a game of kickball and hiking ourselves.
As a parent, you want to know that your child is not simply being 'watched after school' but nurtured. You also want them to be in a safe environment .PJVC provides this for the children of Port Jefferson. My children relocated to Port Jefferson this school year and this program has also helped them acclimate to the district.
I thank the town for having the vision to develop and support such a progressive after school program for the children of this community."
